We the People: The Citizen & The Constitution
The primary goal of "We the People: The Citizen and the Constitution" is to promote civic competence and responsibility among the nation's elementary and secondary students. What makes this program so successful is the design of its instructional program, including its innovative culminating activity. We The People enables student participation and ownership of individual learning through preparation for a mock hearing centered around constitutional principles and philosophy. In addition, students learn critical writing, participating in a group, public speaking, and responding respectfully to controversial topics.
Our Partnership with the Civic Thought and Leadership Initiative, within the Center for Constitutional Studies at Utah Valley University allows us to reach more teachers across the State of Utah and provide them with civics curriculum training and support.
